5-Day The Great Ape safari
This 5-Day The Great Ape safari will take you to Grande Barrier border crossing. However, your tour will include several gorilla treks that will take you into the forest to spend a once in a lifetime visit up close with the gorillas. You will also enjoy a volcano trek tour. Eventually, come explore with us!
Day 1: Goma – Mikeno Lodge
Meanwhile, you will arrive at Grande Barrier border crossing and check-in with the Virunga tourism office. In other words, the tourism office is conveniently located in the Grande Barrier border post building, opposite passport control. Meanwhile,5Day The Great Ape the staff will provide you with gorilla and volcano trek permits. These permits must be presented before the start of each trek. Once check-in is complete, you will be transported to Mikeno Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Main destination is Virunga National Park (Gorillas)

Day 2-3: Mountain Gorillas Trek
Afterward an early breakfast, you will set off for the gorilla trek at Bukima Ranger Post. Upon arrival, you will meet the ranger guides and local posters to receive a briefing before starting the gorilla trek. Meanwhile, treks usually require 1 to 2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on the location of the group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain.
After spending the allotted time with the gorillas, you will return to post and then be transported back to Mikeno Lodge. Furthermore,5Day The Great Ape the remainder of the day can be spent relaxing on the lodge terrace or visiting the gorilla orphans at the Senkwekwe Center. Later in the evening, you will have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay.

Day 4: Virunga National Park
Afterward an early breakfast, you will set off for a gorilla trek at Bukima Ranger Post. On arrival you will meet the guides and local posters for a briefing before starting the gorilla trek. Meanwhile,5Day The Great Ape treks usually require 1 – 2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on the location of the group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. Thereafter spending the allotted time with the gorillas, you will head back to the lodge. Furthermore, the remainder of the day will be spent around the lodge. Later in the night, you will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Back to Goma
Afterward your breakfast, 5Day The Great Ape you will spend the day around park base and visit the Gorilla Orphanage. Afterward your activity, you will check-out of the lodge and travel back to Goma or add on Tchegera Island.
