UGANDA NATIONAL PARKS.

Uganda National Parks, Seven of these adventurous places are found in the western region of the country. These include Mgahinga Gorilla Park, Mountain Rwenzori, Bwindi Impenetrable  forest, Kibale, Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth is the most popular, Semiliki Valley, Murchison fall is the biggest, while, Kidepo Valley is found in Northern and Mountain Elgon found in Eastern Region.

MURCHISION FALL NATIONAL PARKS

Which is the world’s strongest waterfall.

This park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, surrounded within four districts Nwoya, Bulisa Kiryandondo and Masindi in northwest Uganda.

It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surge through narrow gap over a massive drop.

Wild animals include elephants and hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the kaniyo Pabidmahogany forest. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks.

There is game fish in the cascades of karuma falls , it’s area covered with 3,893km2 and is the largest, protected in Uganda. This park is known for its powerful waterfall in the world’s longest river.

QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

A mixture of wonders

Queen Elizabeth National park is  a very liked park located in south-western Uganda. This is about 400km from Kampala. it lies between lakes George and Albert found in several districts included Kasese ,Kamwenge, Rubirizi as well as Rukungiri.

Therefore, it also covers an area of 1978km2. Known for its African elephants, buffalos, Ugandan Kobs. Overall, the park is home to 95 mammal’s types and over 600 bird types.

BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

The Ultimate Gorilla experience

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in south-western Uganda, at the junction of the plain and mountain forest. Further more, this Park covers an area of 331 km2.

where it’s also known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 types of trees and over 100 types of ferns. Similarly, Bwindi Impenetrable is rainforest which keeps raining throughout the year. Beside, its also  a home to 430 mountain gorillas which is half of the world’s folk.

KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK.

True African wildness

Kidepo valley National Park is located in Northern Region of Uganda near karenga and Karamoja district.

it also covers with area of 1442km2.

Therefore Kidepo valley national park known for its wildlife that includes over 76 mammal types thus recognized as the second ending in Uganda with 480 bird types.

KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

The Primate Capital of the World

Kibale Forest National Park is a rain forest area in Uganda where travelers travel to engage in Chimpanzee walking Safaris. Mostly its a home of more than 1200 East African chimpanzees.

It covers an area of 776km2.

This is found in the Kabarole district in western region of Uganda.

Contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. Further more the forest is covered with patches of grassland and swamps.

MOUNTAIN ELGON NATIONAL PARK

The World’s largest Caldera

Mountain Elgon National Park is located on a border of Uganda and Kenya.

An old shield volcano, has 4000km2. Additionally, it has the largest volcanic base in the world which covers an area of 1279 km2 whereby, Uganda covers 1110 km2 while Kenyan part covers 169 km2.

it consists of waterfalls, caves, tree hyraxes, rocks, forest hog, different birds and wild animals as well. Besides, there  also many activities carried out there at the park.

MGAHINGA GORILLA NATIONAL PARK

Where Gold Meets Silver

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in Kisoro district in southern western Uganda.

It  therefore covers 33.9km2.

This National Park known for having 30 mountain Gorillas which are free to cross the borders between Uganda, Rwanda and DRC as well as golden monkey tracing, volcano climbing and Batwa trail.

LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Whispers Of the Wild

Lake Mburo National Park is located in kyabushozi county in kiruhura district near Mbarara in western part of Uganda.

further more its home to 350 bird types as well as zebra impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, waterbuck, leopard, hyena and reedbuck.

Where It covers with area of 260 km2.

SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK

The True Birders Haven

Semiliki National Park is located in Bwamba county in Bundibugyo in Western Uganda.

While, it covers an area of 220km2 .

This National park has different African wild animals for- example the chimpanzee, buffalo, leopard, hippopotamus, Mona monkey, water chevrotain , bush babies, civet, elephant. Further the distance between Kampala and Semiliki National park is 286km so it will take 4-5 hours on the way.

Therefore Semiliki National Park shows 40% of total bird types with 441 types such as piping hornbill, Blue-headed created flycatcher, white–crested Hornbill, Yellow-throated and many more.

RWENZORI MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

The Mystical Challenge

Nevertheless, Mountain Rwenzori is located in Kasese district in western Uganda on the border between Uganda and DRC.

While, it covers an area of 998km2.

Meanwhile, the highest peak of the Rwenzori reaches 5109 meters. its the mountain known as mountain of moon since Greek explorers tried to locate the source of the Nile .

Mountain Rwenzori National Park has more attractions such as chimpanzee and white Colobus monkey, Vegetation, snow Peak, Lake Bujuka, and others.
