Uganda Parks

Uganda has ten national parks. Seven of these adventurous places are found in the western region of the country. These include Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Mountain Rwenzori National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park is most popular, Semliki Valley National Park, Murchison fall National Park is the biggest, excluding Kidepo Valley National Park which found in Northern Region ,Mountain Elgon National Park found in Eastern Region

The world’s strongest waterfall
This park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, surrounded within four districts Nwoya, Bulisa Kiryandondo and Masindi in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surge through narrow gap over a massive drop. Park Wild include elephants and hippos , and there are chimpanzees in the kaniyo Pabidmahogany forest .The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks .There are game fish in the cascades of karuma falls , it’s area covered with 3,893km2 and is the largest protected in Uganda. This park is famous for its powerful waterfall in the world’s longest river and in the world squeezes through a 7 meter gap, then drop down 45 meters and this national park needs 3day to tour.

Queen Elizabeth National park located in southwest about 400km from Kampala laying between lakes George and Albert found in several districts included Kasese ,Kamwenge,Rubirizi , and Rukungiri, it covers with 1978km2, Queen Elizabeth National Park known for its African elephants ,African buffalo, Ugandan Kobs, creator lakes, hippopotamus, Waterbuck, Warthog, giant forest hog ,Nile crocodile, leopard spotted hyena and lion. Overall, the park is home to 95 mammal’s species and over 600 bird species. Queen Elizabeth National Park is very popular National Park in Uganda.

The Ultimate Gorilla experience
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in south-western Uganda, at the junction of the plain and mountain forest, this Park covers with area of 331 km2 and is known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns, Bwindi Impenetrable forest is rainforest and keeps raining throughout the year round .it in habits 430 mountain gorillas which is half of the word’s populations in the world

Kidepo valley National Park known for its wildlife which includes over 76 mammal species and its highest number of birds species and recognized as the second destination in Uganda with 480 bird Species , it covers with area of 1442km2,located in karenga karamoja in Northern Region Uganda .

Kibale Forest National Park is a rain forest area in Uganda where travelers travel to engage in Chimpanzee Trekking Safaris since its home of more than 1200 East African chimpanzees , It covers with area of 776km2, Found in the Kabarole district in western region of Uganda. Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most
varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda .Forest cover, interspersed with patches of grassland and swamps, dominates the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau.

The World’s largest Caldera
Mountain Elgon National Park located on a border of Uganda and Kenya. Mountain Elgon is an extinct shield volcano, has 4000km2 its largest volcanic base in the world and covers area of 1279 km2 but Uganda covers 1110 km2 while Kenyan part covers 169 km2. There are waterfalls, caves, tree hyraxes, elephants, buffalo Duiker, waterbuck, duiker, forest hog, bush pig, leopard, civet and several cats, Rocks and many activities carried out at Mountain Elgon National Park

Where Gold Meets Silver
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park located in kisoro district in southern western Uganda, it covers 33.9km2. This National Park known for having 30mountain Gorillas although are free to cross the borders between Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC and also has golden monkey tracking, volcano climbing and batwa trail.

Whispers Of theWild
This Park is located in kyabushozi county, kiruhura district near Mbarara in western part of Uganda. This smallest of uganda’s savannah national park, it is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, defassa waterbuck, leopard, hyena, topi and reedbuck. It covers with area of 260 km2.

Semliki National Park located in Bwamba county in Bundibugyo in Western Uganda ,it covers area of 220km2 .This National park have chimpanzee, African buffalo, leopard, hippopotamus, Mona monkey, water chevrotain , bush babies, African civet, African elephant .The distance between Kampala and Semliki National park is 286km so it will take 4-5 hours on the way .semliki National Park showing 40% of total bird species with 441 species such as piping hornbill, Blue-headed created flycatcher, white –crested Hornbill, Yellow-throated

The Mystical Challenge
Mountain Rwenzori located in Kasese district in western Uganda on the border between Uganda and the DRC and covers 998km2. The highest peak of the Rwenzori reaches 5109 meters, mountain known as mountain of moon since Greek explorers trying to locate the source of the Nile .Mountain Rwenzori National Park has more attraction such as chimpanzee and white Colobus monkey ,Mountain Rwenzori Vegetation , Mount Rwenzori Mountain snow Peak ,Lake Bujuka, and others
