7 days African safari holidays  takes you to Volcanoes NP lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

You will arrive at Kigali Airport and perform the routine clearance process. Once done, you will be welcomed by your waiting tour driver-guide, and then hit the road to Volcanoes National Park. furthermore, Volcanoes NP lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. lastly, you will arrive at the booked accommodation and can relax, awaiting the next day’s activity.

The golden monkeys’ trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park at 07h00, the same time as the gorilla trekking. These rare monkey types are also listed as risky.

However, it has seasoned groups that are available for trekking by visitors. In other words, the exercise starts with a short briefing from the park ranger at the RDB office. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the golden monkeys through the rainforest of the Volcanoes NP.

you will enter the gorilla home for your adventure. meanwhile, the beauty of this rainforest is spectacular! while, the area offers a dramatic, steeply forested view and is amazingly thick but crisscrossed by many animal trails allowing access to tourists.

You will drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famously known for its tree-climbing lion population. Once there, undertake a game drive in search of this rare species of lions. however, should you get the chance to spot the lions up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and unforgettable.

Detailed itinerary

Day1; Arrive in Kigali, transfer to accommodation in/close to Volcanoes NP

You will arrive at Kigali Airport and perform the routine clearance process. Once done, you will be welcomed by your waiting tour driver-guide, and then hit the road to Volcanoes National Park. furthermore, Volcanoes NP lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. lastly, you will arrive at the booked accommodation and can relax, awaiting the next day’s activity.

 

Optional (additional cost): If time allows and you’re interested, you may consider a Kigali city excursion before transferring to Volcanoes NP.

Day2; Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes NP – Transfer to Bwindi, Uganda

Eventually, return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch. once done, proceed to the Cyanika border post. meanwhile from Cyanika, you will be received by our Uganda-based professional tour driver-guide who will take over from his Rwanda-based colleague. lastly, you will cross the border into Uganda and overnight at a property close to Bwindi National Park, from where you will undertake the gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 3; Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest, Rushaga sector – Return and take rest

After your break first, continue to the rangers’ post where you will receive a briefing from a ranger guide on the do’s and don’ts during gorilla trekking. Thereafter, 7days African safari holidays you will enter the gorilla home for your adventure. meanwhile, the beauty of this rainforest is spectacular! while, the area offers a dramatic, steeply forested view and is amazingly thick but crisscrossed by many animal trails allowing access to tourists.

Meanwhile, the time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but risky giants, is unforgettable. lastly, return to the lodge, and take some rest after a hard day.

Day 4; Game viewing in Ishasha for the tree-climbing lions – Connect north Queen Elizabeth NP

Be up early, have break first and embark on a transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famously known for its tree-climbing lion population. Once there, undertake a game drive in search of this rare species of lions. however, should you get the chance to spot the lions up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and unforgettable. Furthermore  on this 7days African safari holidays from Ishasha (south), exit and head to the booked accommodation in the north sector. lastly, check in and take rest.

Optional: if interested, you may consider a late afternoon-to-evening game drive/safari in the Kasenyi plains.

Day 5; Game drive safari – Afternoon boat trip/safari – Kazinga Channel

Be up early and have your breakfast. Proceed for a morning game drive/safari in the Kasenyi plains and be on the lookout for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants, as well as lions and leopards (though hard to spot), among others. In the same way, return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. Thereafter, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, you sight of wildlife, including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others, will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds on the water shores.

Optional (no cost): If interested, you may go for a brief late afternoon-to-evening game viewing and then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6; Chimp tracking in Kalinzu Forest Reserve – Transfer to Lake Mburo NP

Be up early, have break first and drive out to the nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve. The forest is home to seasoned chimpanzees plus other animals including baboons, monkeys and also various bird types. Today, you will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees. Thereafter, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara city. Once in Mburo, you can choose to check in and just relax, or check in and go for a game drive.

Optional (extra cost): if interested, you can consider the night game drive to see the nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7; Walking safari – Travel to Entebbe to catch flight out

For a moment, enjoy your early break first and proceed for the Mburo Park morning bushwalk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. However, on this early morning guided walk, you will have the chance to encounter at close range zebra, giraffe, eland, topi and other antelope, and Cape buffalo among others. In the same way, you’ll take the trail to the top of the hills to see Lake Mburo and beyond. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for checkout and then hit the road to Entebbe airport to catch your flight.
