Day 1-3: Riding at Olepangi Farm Guesthouse
Olepangi Farm is a glorious farm-stay retreat in the foothills of Mount Kenya,12Day Ride in the northern region of the malaria-free Kenyan highlands. This working ranch has five cottages, beautifully furnished and each with its own distinct theme.
It is the base for the owner’s private safari company, making this a perfect choice for arranging excursions to the surrounding mountains and conservation areas. Horse riders will be in their element, as will those who relish outdoor life and magnificent scenery.
A variety of activities on the farm include yoga on the deck overlooking the valley,12Day Ride walking, horse riding and polo, and a selection of games including badminton, croquet, and board games. Further afield, trips are offered to nearby communities, and longer horse rides are available for experienced riders.

Day 4-6: Explore Laikipia on foot with your own professional guide
Time to get out, 12Day Ride stretch your legs and explore Africa the way our ancestors did thousands of years before we invented the wheel – by foot. This special mobile walking safari rambles across some of Laikipia wildest areas, across beautiful undulating view, clear streams and rivers, with the possibility of meeting rare wild dogs and large herds of elephants along the way.
Your private professional guide, 12Day Ride Steve Carey, knows this area through and through, and a few days with him on safari is a natural history education unlike any other. Better yet, he has spent ten years following and studying the resident pack of wild dogs and if you are lucky, you might be able to find and photograph them.
This is the only place in East Africa that you can do this! When the sun drops below the horizon, you will share stories around the open fire whilst the chef whips up spectacular food seemingly out of nothing – ending the day curled up in a sleeping bag beneath a canopy of sparkling stars.

Day 7-11: Extreme water sport lovers paradise on the white beaches of Diani
Nestled between tropical forest and white beaches,12Day Ride Kenya ways is ideally situated away from the main hotels in a secluded spot right on the beach. With an atmosphere much closer to a family home than a hotel, Kenya ways epitomize the famous Swahili saying “hakuna matata” – no worries.
At the same time it couldn’t be a better spot to get your adrenalin pumping on the little-known kite surfers’ paradise, Galu beach, and with H20 Extreme offering almost any water activity you could wish for. Ideal for water sports fanatics or beginners try to their hand at the myriad of options the kite village has to offer – kitesurfing, windsurfing, stand up paddle surfing,
plus Kayaking, snorkeling, diving or deep sea fishing – you name it! But if the sea isn’t for everyone, then the pool, a massage, a yoga class, the nearby golf course or simply drinking a coconut in a hammock looking out to sea, this is still the place for you.
