10 Day Samburu & Mara Flying A flying safari is an excellent way to use your safari time wisely while getting the opportunity to spend some quality time in excellent wildlife areas. This trip combines two prime wildlife regions, Samburu and the Maasai Mara while staying in small and well-located luxury camps.

Maasai Mara National Reserve:
- Key Attraction: The Great Wildebeest Migration is the most famous event in Maasai Mara. Witnessing the vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles crossing the Mara River is a breathtaking experience.
- Wildlife: Maasai Mara is home to the “Big Five” and offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos. It also boasts an impressive diversity of other wildlife, including cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and various antelope species.
- Maasai Culture: Interact with the Maasai people and learn about their traditional way of life and unique customs.
Samburu National Reserve
- A protected area and wildlife reserve located in the northern part of Kenya, East Africa. It is situated along the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River and covers an area of approximately 165 square kilometers (about 64 square miles). The reserve is part of a larger ecosystem that includes Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Shaba National Reserve.
- One of the significant features of Samburu National Reserve is its abundant and diverse wildlife. Visitors to the reserve have the opportunity to spot a variety of animal species, including the “Samburu Special Five,” which are species not commonly found in other Kenyan parks. The “Samburu Special Five” includes the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, and the Gerenuk (a long-necked antelope).
- In addition to these unique species, the reserve is home to other iconic African wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles, among others. Samburu is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with a rich diversity of bird species.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi
On arrival, 10Day Samburu & Mara Flying you’ll be met by our representative to move you to the Tamarind Tree Hotel for your overnight rest. Furthermore, extra nights are available on request and we can also arrange a day tour if you arrive early. You’ll visit sights such as The Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen Museum and Kanzuri Beads.

Day 2-5: Samburu National Reserve
Afterward breakfast, move to Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu. Though rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. However, you will make Elephant Bedroom Camp your home for the next four nights.
Furthermore, the camp offers luxury in a setting of breathtaking beauty. In addition to, it is set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and shaded by doum palms and other trees that make up this green belt of riverine forest. Meanwhile, 10Day Samburu & Mara Flying the spacious tents have colorful African touches, offering all the comforts.
They also have a private plunge pool on the deck, hot water, electricity and herbal shower and bath products. Eventually, enjoy four days in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Meanwhile, the Samburu National Reserve is an area of amazing view and its dry plains are bisected by the meandering river, with the backdrop of Africa’s dramatic mountains. You also have the option of a guided bush walk or a visit to a local Samburu village paid locally.

Day 6-9: Maasai Mara National Reserve
Nevertheless, this morning you will move to the airstrip for your flight to the Maasai Mara that offers wonderful view and plenty of games. Then settle into the Entim Mara Camp for the next four nights, which offers 12 luxury tents.
Furthermore,10Day Samburu & Mara Flying Entim was designed to be in the best possible location on the Mara River and for a few months in the year, the migration is on our doorstep. In other words, it is these mighty rivers that are the greatest obstacles for the hundreds of thousands of wildebeests on their trip north.
However, the currents are strong, the banks are steep and thousands perish in the jaws of massive crocodiles. Crossings are spectacular and frenetic providing thrilling game viewing either from a vehicle or when simply relaxing in camp.
The plains around are filled with an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, from plains game to large herds of elephants, buffalo and, of course, predators. Spend your next four days on game drives in the Mara either in the morning and afternoon or all day with a picnic lunch.

Day 10: Fly to Nairobi

In other words, consider extending your stay to the Kenyan coast or Zanzibar for a nice way to round off your safari. Thus the end of 10 Day Samburu & Mara Flying.
