3-Day Combined Nyungwe and Akagera National park is central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. The rolling highlands, vast plains and swamp fringed lakes of this north eastern territory contain a rich biodiversity and are home to a number of rare species, With more than 12,000 large mammals and 482 bird species, this breath-taking landscape is every nature lover’s wildest dream. Day 1; Akagera National Park Game Drive

Afterward breakfast, 3Day Combined Nyungwe and Akagera you will go on a game drive in the park, exploring the best of what eastern Rwanda has to offer. Akagera national park is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania. African parks is currently managing this park and has done a great job with the conservation. In the past there were lots of conflict between people and the park but this was solved by fencing off part of the park and the introduction of community tours where visitors are encouraged to visit and benefit accordingly.

Meanwhile, Akagera national park is a the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal types including Lions, Elephants,3Day Combined Nyungwe and Akagera Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduces from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago. Day 2; Nyungwe Forest National Park

Meanwhile, an early morning breakfast will be followed by a drive to Nyungwe forest. However on the way, visit Nyanza King’s Palace,3Day Combined Nyungwe and Akagera the National Museum of Butare and Nyanza which was the base of the ancient Rwanda Kingdom before the arrival of the Europeans. Furthermore, the compound has the modern palace constructed by King Mutara in 1934. lastly, it is tastefully decorated with the traditional mats and utensils.
