4 Day Lake Nakuru & Maasai This safari takes you to Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island and Maasai Mara. This Kenya discovery safari packs so much into 4 active days, risky rhinos and rare giraffes, colorful birdlife, and the big cats of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You’ll start your tour at the Rift Valley lakes of Nakuru, Naivasha and the nearby Crescent Island.
Here’s what you can expect from each destination:
Maasai Mara National Reserve:
- Key Attraction: The Great Wildebeest Migration is the most famous event in Maasai Mara. Witnessing the vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles crossing the Mara River is a breathtaking experience.
- Wildlife: Maasai Mara is home to the “Big Five” and offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos. It also boasts an impressive diversity of other wildlife, including cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and various antelope species.
- Maasai Culture: Interact with the Maasai people and learn about their traditional way of life and unique customs.
Lake Nakuru National Park:
- Key Attraction: Lake Nakuru is famous for its large population of pink flamingos that gather along its shores, creating a breathtaking pink spectacle. The park is also home to both black and white rhinos.
- Wildlife: Besides flamingos and rhinos, you can spot various other bird species and wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalos, and giraffes.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha – Crescent Island – Lake Nakuru
Early morning, your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will pick you up in a private 4 x 4 Safari Jeep for the easy and scenic road trip along the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Along your route, you’ll take in the dramatic rise of the escarpment walls.
Arriving at Lake Naivasha, on this 4 Day Lake Nakuru & Maasai you’ll take a fun sailing safari across this freshwater, gliding past hippos and catching sight of pelicans, cormorants, and maybe some antelope grazing on the shore. Similarly, you’ll then hop over to the nearby Crescent Island for a guided walking tour of this special quite reserve.
On this third day you’ll be taken to Lake Nakuru to sight birds such as pelicans, kingfishers, storks, herons, eagles, and sometimes even bright flamingoes. Furthermore on land, you’ll be on the lookout for rare Rothschild’s giraffe and Kenya’s largest number of black rhino while dinner and overnight will be at Sarova Lion hill Game Lodge.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara Reserve
Early morning you’ll go for a game drive around the park and then head out to the Maasai Mara National Reserve further along the route, you’ll make stops to relax and enjoy the vistas as you head into the Maasai land.
Upon arrival on thi 4 Day Lake Nakuru & Maasai , you’ll then have a break for lunch amidst the rolling hills and golden grasslands of the great park a home to thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of herding wildlife crossing its timeless plains. Similarly, you’ll set out on the first of many game drives on our three days in this world-famous reserve. If there are any special requests, please share them with your driver/guide who’s too happy to make your stay in the park unforgettable. Lastly, your dinner and overnight will be at Sarova Mara Game Camp.

Day 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve Game Viewing
This morning you’ll have a full day at the park having as many game drives as you wish. If you are here during the season of the Great Migration (June – October) you’ll witness an endless flow of herding wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, streaming into the park via the Mara River.
But at any time of the year, be ready to discover the widest variety of animal types in the region, especially the big cats, buffalo, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and countless more wildlife. Afterward,4Day Lake Nakuru & Maasai you’ll have a picnic lunch at the Mara River, a scene of the animal crossing and also home to hippo and waiting crocodiles.
As well as creating some other special moments like a cultural meeting with the local Maasai people, Visiting their nearby villages, meeting with the original dwellers of this land, and also learning about their herding lifestyle. While, your dinner and overnight will be at Sarova Mara Game Camp.
