4 Day Tsavo East It is an African safari offering game drives and scenic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Enjoy the rolling plains and savannah with dormant volcanic sites in Tsavo National Park. You have a chance to see all the Big Five members, cheetahs, and hyenas, greater and lesser flamingos among much more wild game.
Here’s what you can expect from each destination:
Maasai Mara National Reserve:
- Key Attraction: The Great Wildebeest Migration is the most famous event in Maasai Mara. Witnessing the vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles crossing the Mara River is a breathtaking experience.
- Wildlife: Maasai Mara is home to the “Big Five” and offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos. It also boasts an impressive diversity of other wildlife, including cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and various antelope species.
- Maasai Culture: Interact with the Maasai people and learn about their traditional way of life and unique customs.
Lake Nakuru National Park:
- Key Attraction: Lake Nakuru is famous for its large population of pink flamingos that gather along its shores, creating a breathtaking pink spectacle. The park is also home to both black and white rhinos.
- Wildlife: Besides flamingos and rhinos, you can spot various other bird species and wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalos, and giraffes.
Amboseli National Park:
- Key Attraction: Amboseli is renowned for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. The backdrop of the snow-capped mountain provides an incredible setting for wildlife photography.
- Wildlife: Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants, and you can also see lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and numerous bird species.
Tsavo East National Park:
- Landscape: Tsavo East is characterized by vast savannah plains, open grasslands, and iconic red soil, creating a picturesque African wilderness setting.
- Wildlife: The park is home to an array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, leopards, and various antelope species. It is also a renowned destination for birdwatchers due to its abundant birdlife.
- Galana River: The Galana River is the largest river in the park, attracting wildlife, especially during the dry season when it becomes a vital water source.
- Mudanda Rock: This prominent rock outcrop offers excellent panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and is a popular spot for wildlife sightings, particularly elephants.
Tsavo West National Park:
- Landscape: Tsavo West is characterized by rugged terrain, volcanic hills, and diverse landscapes, including open plains, lava fields, and acacia woodlands.
- Wildlife: The park is known for its diverse wildlife, including the “Big Five,” as well as hippos, crocodiles, gazelles, zebras, and a rich variety of birdlife.
- Mzima Springs: This oasis in the park provides a unique opportunity to see underwater life through an underwater observatory. Hippos and crocodiles can often be seen in the crystal-clear waters.
- Shetani Lava Flows: These black lava flows are remnants of ancient volcanic activity and offer a striking contrast to the surrounding landscapes.
- Chaimu Crater: The Chaimu Crater is a volcanic crater with steep sides, offering a challenging but rewarding hike to the summit, where you can enjoy stunning views of the park.
Lake Naivasha:
- Key Attraction: Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake known for its abundant birdlife and scenic beauty. Take a boat ride to see hippos, waterfowls, and other bird species up close.
- Activities: Apart from bird watching, you can also explore nearby Hell’s Gate National Park, go on nature walks, or enjoy biking safaris in the area.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Nairobi
Early in the morning, 4Day Tsavo East you’ll be picked up from your hotel/airport. After a briefing by one of our representative, start your trip through Nairobi – Mombasa highway to Tsavo East National Park. You will arrive at your Lodge in time for check in followed by lunch.
After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive. During the construction of the old Kenya – Uganda railway line in 1898, some lions from Tsavo killed and fed on hundreds of construction workers and hence the name the Tsavo Man Eaters. Later after the game drive, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo East National Park to Tsavo West National Park
You’ll start your day with an early morning game drive within Tsavo East. After the game drive, 4Day Tsavo East return to the lodge for your mid-morning breakfast and check out with departure time for Tsavo West. The park is in the rolling plains of the African savanna with a large population of elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, among other animals. Arrive at your Lodge in time for check in followed by lunch. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive until the sun drops. You’ll then return to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Ngulia Safari Lodge is a Mid-range lodge located inside Tsavo West

Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli National Park
You’ll start your day with breakfast and thereafter, 4Day Tsavo East check out and depart for Amboseli National Park with an en route visit to Mzima Springs. Here you will have a nature walk as you marvel at the underground source of fresh water in a semi-arid region.
Meanwhile, arrive at Amboseli in good time for check in and lunch. Amboseli is well known for large herds of elephants and the backdrop view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. You can enjoy afternoon game drives till the sun drops.
Main Destination: Amboseli National Park
Accommodation option:
Zebra Plains Amboseli Camp is a Mid-range tented camp located just outside Amboseli NP
Meals & Drinks:

Day 4: Depart Amboseli National Park for Nairobi or Mombasa or Malindi
You will have an early morning game drive and then return to your lodge mid-morning for breakfast and check out. Then later,4Day Tsavo East you will depart for Nairobi or Mombasa or Malindi with some stops en-route arriving in the afternoon. Lunch will be at your own expense before being moved to your hotel or the airport for check in of your international flight back home with lots of safari memories.
