Detailed itinerary
After an early morning breakfast at your residence or at your hotel, your guide will meet you and do the 4-Day Dr Congo Lowland Gorilla Tracking introduction shortly after the briefing start the journey and drive through the west of Rwanda besides Lake Kivu rusizi border town on the shores of Lake kivu. Overnight at Emeraude Kivu Resort.

Kahuzi-Biega National Park is 45kms from Rusizi, Rwanda and is about 2 – 3 hours apart including the border clearance
After an early morning breakfast, we shall drive to Tshivanga headquator ahead of our Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking arriving in time to join the senior ranger guide who will take us thru the Trekking Briefing and after the Trekking experience we shall return back to rusizi Rwanda.
It’s nesco World Heritage site. A vast area of primary tropical forest dominated by two spectacular extinct volcanoes, Kahuzi and Biega, the park has a diverse and abundant fauna. Some of the last groups of eastern lowland gorillas consisting of only some about 5000 individuals, live here at between 2100 and 2400 m above the sea level. They have black coats, and the males develop silver backs as they mature. With the help of a ranger and trackers, we approach this rare primate. The walk can take several hours, but coming across the group in its particular habitat is an inspiring moment.

After an early morning breakfast we will embark on the journey to Chamudongo Forest in Nyungwe Forest National Park, on arrival we will be led by a team of senior rangers to the rain forest in search of our closest cousin. There’s always no assurance of finding them but on luck day they can easily be found as they can be located by the vocalization. Once you find, you will only spend an hour with them and in the afternoon if time allows go for canopy walk Nyungwe National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, embark on the journey to Kigali, you will stopover at murambi Genocide memorial to your last respect for victms of 1994 Rwanda Genocide and then stopover at Butare National museum and Nyanza Palace to learn about Rwanda traditional culture compared to mordan day. In Kigali your driver guide will drop you at your preferred destination. Thus the end of 4-Day Dr Congo Lowland Gorilla Tracking.
